My Rhipsalis pilocarpa is flowering!
The Rhipsalis pilocarpa (mistletoe cactus) I grew from cuttings are flowering! I got these from my grandmother’s plant 2 years ago and apparently they’re thriving. They don’t particularly enjoy the harsh sunlight I get through my south facing windows, but luckily, they’re pretty decorative and can help hide your embarrassing DVD collection in the shade.
This is how my Rhipsalis cuttings looked 2 years ago.
Mistletoe Cactus (Rhipsalis pilocarpa)
The Rhipsalis cuttings I got from my grandmother a couple of years ago grew into this beautiful plant. It has yet to flower in my care, but I think they need a chilly winter period for this to happen. I like how it looks, though. Especially as a hanging plant, surrounded by Hoya.
Mistletoe Cactus (Rhipsalis pilocarpa) cuttings
The Mistletoe Cactus (Rhipsalis pilocarpa) cuttings I got from my grandmother this summer grew a bunch of seed pods, from which I harvested around 50 seeds. The plant was actively flowering when the leaves were cut, so I’m very surprised that it was able to root and develop seed pods at the same time.
