I worked out that my Croton has been in my possession for just over 4 years now. I got it when it was a tiny little stalk with 4 small leaves on it and it’s now 40 cm tall, not even including the top leaves. And it’s flowering again! This is the 2nd time this year, within a couple of months. They smell wonderful ?
So my Euphorbia ritchiei (used to be a Monadenium) is flowering. I guess he really liked it when I moved him back indoors. Several pups are growing flower buds, but this one popped early ?
My Croton adds a splash of color to my living room and as a bonus, it’s now flowering! The scent of the flowers is much stronger than I thought it would be. Everything in my apartment now smells like soapy chamomile.
How I made it flower:
Stress, apparently. Two months ago I moved it from a cool north-facing window to a brighter position near my south-facing window and gave it a round of fertilizer for indoor houseplants. It must have thought it was springtime in November.
My Gymnocalycium mihanovichii has been flowering all week. I finally came home early enough to see the them before they close up for the night.
They really brighten up the place! ?
Went outside to check on my Sempervivums after several days of heavy rainstorms and this is what I saw. The first of many flower buds has opened!
